Bruce E. Toll
Principal
Bruce Toll is the co-founder and vice-chairman of Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE: TOL), the leading builder of luxury homes in the United States. Toll Brothers has sold over 40,000 homes in twenty-two states. Toll companies include Westminster Mortgage, Eastern States Engineering, Toll Architecture Group, and Toll Integrated Systems.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the Home Builders Association of Bucks and Montgomery Counties, the Ben Franklin Technology Center of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Abington Memorial Hospital, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is Chairman of the Abington Township Industrial and Commercial Development Authority, and also serves on many other charitable boards.
Michael P. Markman
President
Michael Markman oversees acquisitions, leasing, financing, and development for BET Investments. Before joining BET he managed, as general counsel, all legal matters for a publicly traded, New York Stock Exchange real estate investment trust (REIT) with over $500 million in assets. Michael is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Temple University School of Law, a member of the bar in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and formerly served as Chairman of the Abington Township Planning Commission and has held many positions in the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is on the Board of Directors of the John A. Robbins company and is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences.
Chris Schiele
Chief Financial Officer
Chris Schiele oversees all financial matters involving reporting, debt financing, development and acquisitions at BET Investments. Prior to joining BET Investments, Chris was a Vice President in the finance division of Capmark Financial Group, a real estate finance, investment and service company; the CFO/Controller of Korman Commercial properties, a Philadelphia based real estate management and development company; and was a manager at the international accounting firm of Arthur Andersen and Co. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Pennsylvania and obtained his degree at DeSales University.
Gregory F. Gambel, Jr.
General Counsel
Greg joined BET Investments in 2006 and manages the Legal Department. He focuses on legal matters and business analyses related to the acquisition/disposition, financing, development, leasing and management of real estate assets. He is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Greg moved to the Philadelphia area in 1995 to attend Villanova University (Cum Laude, 1999) and then the Villanova University School of Law (2002). He began his legal career at a prominent Bucks County law firm where his practice focused primarily on real estate matters.
Greg is an active member of the Bucks County Bar Association, where he previously served multiple terms as Chairman of the Young Lawyers' Division and on the Merit Selection of Judges Committee. He is also active with the International Council of Shopping Centers and sits on the Planning Committee for the PA/NJ/DE Idea Exchange. Greg has volunteered his time to the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Bucks County American Inn of Court, Sons of the American Revolution, Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Woods Services Foundation.
Jennifer Toll Schulman
Vice President
Prior to joining BET Investments, Jennifer was an associate at Blank Rome, L.P., a Philadelphia Law Firm. Jennifer is a graduate of the Temple University School of Law and has a Master of Sciences in Real Estate from New York University. She received a Bachelor of the Arts degree with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the bar in Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as the Young Friends Board of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
David J. Barnhart
Vice President - Commercial Real Estate
David is responsible for overseeing all leasing and marketing efforts for BET's office building portfolio. Additionally, he seeks and develops future business and investment opportunities for the company. Lastly, David is actively involved in third party commercial real estate brokerage and provides tenant representation, sales and leasing, and consulting services.
Since 1986 David has held various commercial real estate positions, having responsibilities including corporate real estate and development with the former Fortune 500 Company Reynolds Metals Co.; office and industrial property asset management for Liberty Property Trust (formerly Rouse & Associates); and most recently commercial real estate brokerage services with Grubb & Ellis Company's suburban Philadelphia office.
David is a licensed Pennsylvania real estate salesperson. He earned a Masters of Business Administration - Finance & Real Estate from the Pennsylvania State University as well as a Bachelor of Science - Science and Agriculture from the Pennsylvania State University. He currently holds Board of Director's positions with Eagleville Hospital and United Cerebral Palsy Association and is also actively involved in other various community organizations.
Peter J. Clelland, P.E.
Director of Development
Peter Clelland coordinates the various disciplines of engineering and architecture with tenant requirements and related legal matters to bring properties and projects from early inception through design, permitting and construction to ultimate occupancy. He is a graduate of Drexel University with dual Bachelor Degrees in Architectural Engineering and Civil Engineering with over 15 years experience in designing and developing commercial andresidential real estate projects. Prior to joining BET, Peter was Senior Project Manager with Bohler Engineering, an engineering firm serving some of the largest retailers and retail developers working in the east coast market.
Sharon K. Hickerson
Property Manager
Sharon Hickerson has been in the commercial real estate industry since 1987 and is currently responsible for managing 2.6 million square feet of commercial and retail real estate in 9 states. Prior to joining BET Investments, Sharon was a Property Manager forEquity Office Properties Trust and Acorn Development Corporation. She holds a BA in Organizational Management and an MBA in Business Management. Sharon is a BOMA judge for the TOBY (The Office Building of the Year) awards, which recognize excellence in the office building industry.
Matt Wilkinson, LEED AP
Senior Project Manager
Matt Wilkinson manages all aspects of construction development from start to occupancy for commercial and residential projects at BET. Responsibilities include contracting, value engineering, supervising subcontractors, budgeting and managing the operations of multimillion dollar and smaller construction projects for BET across the United States. Clients have included national retailers, institutional businesses and private enterprise. Matt has experience with environmental remediation, building renovations, site construction, selective demolition, build-to-suit, and tenant-fit out. Prior to joining BET Matt was a Senior Project Manager at Toll Brothers, the nation's leading luxury homebuilder, managing projects in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Matt is a LEED Accredited Professional. LEED is the green building program supported by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). He also holds a green building certificate from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and is an associate member of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council. Matt earned a Master's of Professional Studies from Cornell University in Conservation Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biological Engineering also from Cornell University.
